Meditation
Meditation has been touted as excellent by ancient cultures all over the world. But what is all this meditation stuff? I sit on a pillow chanting "OM" while smelling like patchouli and trying to seek some Guru, but it's all in your head right, it's all just made up mumbo jumbo isn't it? Actually meditation has been studied extensively by top name universities and medical schools. Almost all have come to the conclusion that the following are just some of the very real tangible effects of meditation on your life.
- Increases Immune Function
- Decreases Pain/Inflammation
- Increases Positive Emotions
- Decreases Depression/Anxiety/Stress
- Makes you more Social, Compassionate, and feel Less Lonely
- Better able to regulate Emotions
- Increased Grey Brain Matter
- Increased Focus, Multitasking, and Memory
Available to teach meditation both individually and in small groups. D.K.Carey has a background in Buddhist meditation from the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, as well as various guided meditation traditions. There is often a notion to meditate you have to sit down in a loin cloth, in some cave, and from the first minute be able to completely shut off your mind for hours at a time. Nothing could be further from the truth, and entertaining silly notions like so only help to put meditation out of the grasps of the everyday individual who needs it most. Let the rumors be dispelled and add a little value to your life.
